ENERGY
Since 1999, Fetzer has sourced 100% of its purchased electricity from renewable sources through California’s Direct Access program. In 2026, we installed an on-site solar system that now generates a portion of that renewable electricity, while the remainder continues to be supplied through Direct Access.
We track energy emissions in our annual carbon footprint, which is audited by an independent third-party each year. That information can be found in our parent company’s public sustainability reports: Sustainability | Viña Concha y Toro.
WATER
We capture all winery wastewater and filter it through our BioFiltro system, a water treatment technology powered by worms. The worms digest wastewater solids to remove contaminants while producing valuable castings. Once fully treated and tested, our wastewater is clean enough to apply back to the land, in compliance with California regulations.
WASTE
Our winery facility is TRUE Zero Waste Certified, a distinction earned by diverting more than 90% of waste away from landfill. Each year, we submit comprehensive waste management data to TRUE for review and validation. Our key waste diversion activities include composting grape pomace and recycling all eligible materials from our bottling line, such as corrugate, shrink wrap, and glass.
